Right now I can see my son watching Baby Jake. Everything in my living room is in cool blue tones except for the TV and his bright green outfit, the light is beginning to pour in as the day is beginning.
I can hear the noises and songs of Baby Jake, mixed with the squeaking of the Pack’n’play, as Logan shifts back and forth in excitement. The shower is running quietly in the background.
I can taste toothpaste, lingering on my tongue, waiting to be removed by something that will momentarily taste disgusting.
I can smell my shirt which just came out of the dryer and smells so fresh and fragrant.
I feel a combination of cold and warm. My arms are cold despite the heat being on, my torso and legs warm from being covered. My eyes feel heavy and itch from being awake too early.
