In 2015, I compiled a collection of poems, essays, and short stories that I had written over the years, into a book called “Everything I’ve Got.” I was very proud of the book, but within weeks of publication, I had people pointing out a few typos, and other errors in formatting. I had self-edited, and self published, and it showed.

In addition to the technical errors, there were pieces that I became unhappy with overtime. Eventually I pulled it from publication. I’ve changed a lot in the last 9 years, and I had changed a lot over the 5-10 that I had spent writing those pieces. I don’t want to say I’m ashamed of them—I’m certainly not—but they do not represent who I am as a person, or as a writer anymore.

Over the last few years, I’ve shared with some friends the remaining copies that I had of the book. As I did, I realized that I was unhappy with the disconnect of removing the book from publication. I decided, that I wanted to take what I was proud of, and what needed some refining, as well as some new things that I’ve written, and republish them.

I’ve been working on this for a while, and thought that I would start by sharing them here as I complete each individual piece. I’m going to put these posts behind the paid subscription, since I plan on publishing them as a new book. I’ll have samples, so you can see if you want to read some of each before deciding to subscribe.

For now, if you want to get more notifications about these stories, poems and essays, please subscribe for free!

Thank you.
